Namorado da superstar Ronda Rousey, o lutador Travis Browne causou polêmica ao publicar uma foto ao lado de um alce abatido por ele.

Na legenda da imagem, o peso-pesado escreveu que, primeiramente, "agradece o animal por fornecer comida" à sua família.

"Foi uma morte próxima e pessoal. Do momento em que ele foi baleado até a morte foram quatro minutos e eu testemunhei o animal dando seu último suspiro. Honestamente, foi um pouco difícil de ver no início, mas um sentimento incrível de gratidão me veio em seguida e eu tive que segurar as lágrimas."

"Eu mal posso esperar para contar essa história enquanto estiver cozinhando para minha família e sabendo de onde veio a nossa comida", prosseguiu.

Ainda que tenha deixado a mensagem de supostamente caçou para se alimentar,  Browne foi duramente criticado por parte de seus seguidores, muitos dos quais dizendo que iriam deixar de segui-lo na rede social.

First, I want to give thanks to this incredible animal for providing food for my family. It was an up close and personal kill. From the time he was shot to the time he died was no more than 4min and I witnessed the animal taking his last breath.. Honestly it was a little tough to see at first but then an incredible feeling of thanks came over me enough to have to hold back tears. Right away I thought of my grandfather telling me stories of his elk hunts and how they were the most elusive animal he had ever gone after. I found myself thinking of my grandpa and my father and thinking about how proud they would be of me providing for my family.
